Terms of service

These terms apply when a school subscribes to Readoye, and to everyone who uses Readoye through a school account. Readoye is a service operated by KVA Labs, Mumbai, India.

The service

Readoye is a digital library for schools: books, an encyclopedia, class-wise picks, reading activity and class leaderboards, accessed in a web browser. We may improve, add or remove books and features. Titles can be withdrawn if a rights holder or a legal check requires it.

Accounts

  • The school names an administrator who creates classes, teachers and student accounts.
  • Keep logins and PINs private. The school is responsible for what happens under its accounts and for telling parents or guardians about the library and obtaining any consent the law requires.
  • You must give accurate information and tell us if a login is lost or misused.

Subscription and fees

Schools pay an annual subscription for the plan they choose. Prices are shown in Indian rupees and GST is added at the applicable rate. A tax invoice is issued for each payment. Online payments are processed by Razorpay; offline payment by bank transfer is possible by arrangement.

If a subscription ends without renewal, student and teacher access may stop; school administrators can still sign in to renew. Refunds and cancellation are described on the refund page.

Acceptable use

  • Use Readoye for reading and teaching at your school only.
  • Do not copy, scrape, download in bulk, redistribute or resell the books, images or other content, or try to remove the on-screen protection.
  • Do not attempt to break into the service, overload it, or access another school's data.
  • Do not share student logins outside the school.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules or puts the service or other users at risk.

Content and copyright

Most books are in the public domain or used with permission, and carry attribution and licence details. Readoye's selection, covers, layout and original material belong to KVA Labs or its licensors. Nothing here transfers any intellectual property to you. If you believe a title infringes your rights, write to us and we will review it promptly.

Availability

We aim to keep Readoye available but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may carry out maintenance, and some faults are outside our control (for example internet, hosting or payment-provider outages).

Liability

Readoye is a reading resource, not a substitute for textbooks or teaching, and is provided as is to the extent the law allows. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees the school paid for the current subscription year. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending the agreement

A school may stop using Readoye at any time (see the refund page for money). We may end or suspend a subscription for a serious breach of these terms. On ending, we delete the school's student data as described in the privacy policy.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction. We may update the terms and will change the date on this page; a continued subscription after a change means acceptance. Contact: support@kvalabs.com.
