Questions, answered

What is Readoye?

Readoye is a digital library app for schools in India. Students log in once and read books, an encyclopedia and Indian-language classics on any phone, tablet or laptop. Teachers get their own shelf and simple reading reports.

Does it cover CBSE, ICSE and State Board schools?

Yes. The library is board-neutral: class-wise picks for Classes 1 to 12 that suit any board. It is a reading library, not a textbook replacement, and we do not claim board endorsement.

How do we get started?

Sign up free as the school librarian or a teacher and look around a preview of your dashboard. Subscribe to unlock it, then add classes, print student login cards and open the library to your students.

What does it cost?

₹49,900 per school per year, including GST, for unlimited students and teachers. In a school of 3,000 students that is about ₹17 per student. Smaller schools pay the same price.

Do students need an email address?

No. Students sign in with a school code and a simple login that you print as cards. We store only a first name, class and reading activity. There are no ads and no tracking for marketing.

Where do the books come from?

Most are public-domain classics (Project Gutenberg, Wikisource, Project Madurai) or openly licensed works such as Wikipedia articles. We check each book for age suitability and India copyright, clean and organise the text, and credit the source on every book. You pay for the curation, reading app and school tools, not for the books themselves.

How does it support NEP 2020?

NEP 2020 stresses reading habits, multilingualism and a strong school library culture. Readoye gives every child daily access to books in several Indian languages, and gives teachers simple ways to encourage reading.
